Periodic Political Rant

Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, except the government has the advantage of being able to jail anyone who refuses to participate in it.

Optional Specialization rules for use within the AD&D system allow players and Game Masters to develop varied and balanced styles of Weapon Specialization. Now Each fighter can tailor make his own unique form for combat, dispensing of the tradition of all specialized fighters being +1 to strike and + 2 to damage. Warriors can now learn to strike faster, attack more often, and better defend themselves from other combatants.

I remember when I had first been exposed to AD&D and began to "play". I was still in my Lego age, and had been exposed to AD&D by my many friends older brothers. Back then Dungeons and Dragons was fresh and exciting, and it wasn't long until my friends and I began using all the neat dice in our other play activities. Obviously Lego was one of our favorites. A few years back one of my friends who now has Lego aged children of her own looked back at the fond Nostalgia of Lego and decided to run a Lego "miniature style adventure" at Gen Con. I of course got to write the rules, and liked them so much, I published them here for all of you to enjoy... Perhaps even with your children. Lego is used with out the consent or endorsement of Lego Group.

I've never particularly liked any of the tables that have existed for generating treasure in fantasy games. Particularly I think that prizes as valuable and treasured as Gemstones are often glanced over. I always thought this was kinda unfair, especially to those skilled in their cutting. This is particularly unfortunate in worlds when Gemstones are sought as for their value in magic use. Therefore, I present this table, and a few suggested rules, to flush out the flavor of the valuable little prizes. Image used thus far is done so without permission. Considering that I have included a link to their business, perhaps they might not mind so much.

This is my favorite area, and soon will be the largest. As a matter of fact, if I have my way, this page will soon contain the entire game world I am now building and using in my game. Its a relatively low magic world, filled with great detail and adventure. Each and every city and town will have its own map, description and summary. All aspects of the world will be discussed in depth. Best of all, the world is a "generic" world that is not Dungeons and Dragons specific. I encourage all game masters to look through it, gain inspiration, use what elements you like,. or even us it in its entirety... Feel free to use it for personal use, but it is protected from "for sale" publication by copyright. This page just begin in late Aug . More being added every day

Yes, Im one of those odd freaks who from time to time runs around the woods in costume and with foam weapons to fight guys wearing pig noses and fur pretending to be Orks. Now you can be too. I present to you the rather lengthy rules we have established, as well as a nice amount of background world information you can use as well.. This is a pic of some of my players looking on in disbelief as my next encounter presents itself.

My new NWP rules allow for characters to be more diverse no matter their class. Even better it allows for more realistic skill progression based upon practice and study, not how many monsters you kill to attain higher experience levels. Now characters have the option of character betterment outside of the traditional bounds of Class & Level.

Listed here are many stories that I have been compiling of experiences I have had over my years enjoying the hobby. They come from all manner of RPGs, LARPs and other gaming related activities. All of these stories are true. They are some of the greatest memories that gaming has left me with. They are present here so that my readers might find some of the same pleasures I have been lucky enough to experience. I do hope they bring a smile to you. .

"The Island Game" is a Dungeons and Dragons variant game/campaign that I've run a few times in the past. In the island game, each player is allowed to pick a race they like. Then they are generated a number ( I like 20) of 0 level characters of that race. By the hand of God, all of these groups are dropped upon a previously deserted island with near to nothing to try and make it by. Players compete and cooperate for survival against nature, monsters and themselves.

I'm working on a play by e-mail game. It's basically a multiplayer game with some similarities to "Civilization" where players begin game as leaders of a town in a powerful empire and are required to see to the management of that towns affairs. It is currently in a fantasy setting during time of war with evil hoards of monsters.

I run a game on Thursday nights, and like all games I run, I can't help but tinker with the rules. With so much D&D 3E material these days, we used that as a base. I made some slight changes I'm presenting here. I got rid of classes first and foremost. I also tinkered with the magic system just a wee bit :P. What this system allows for in my opinion are players who are able to easily make custom classes of there own that fit the vision they have for their characters.

Image is blatantly stolen from DreamStone . Take a hop over there some time and take a look at there stuff. Perhaps they won't be mad at me for using their image if I advertise a bit for them :)

Jeff's Wednesday Night 3.5 AD&D Game

Ok, Technically 3.5 games are no longer called "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons", but simply "Dungeons and Dragons". Old habits die hard. Anyhow, These are some of the game elements I'm making available for perusal by my players. It talks a bit about house rules, game mastering philosophy and of course, world background.
