The Elves of Karador in New Tzmyth

Neither humans or elves are native to this land. The difference being that the elves that originally came here chose to. In the distant past this land was discovered by humans through the use of great magics. As humans are apt to do, they began to colonize this wilderness with great success at first. The land was safe, and relatively free of monsters. The difficulty was that travel here was only possible by means of magic because the sea was deadly with serpents and such. Very shortly after the first attempts of colonization, the motherland was destroyed in a conflict that is still not understood. A good number of people magically escaped the fall to here, bringing with them their family and friends. The exodus was haphazard, and little of the former empire survived in this new land. It was not long until a race that dwell under the surface of the earth known as the Valhe began to take notice of this land's new natural resource, namely the humans. The Valhe being creatures with a natural ability to control the minds of men now began to use the new humans to hatch their plots. Though these creatures are common beneath all lands, it was here that humans were found to be particularly ill prepared to handle their subversion. It was at this point that the great elves realized the danger that was posed to all who live on this world by the Valhe. Knowing that no army save for those that may make the journey by air could come to the rescue, the great elves assembled a mounted flight of riders to travel there and wage what war they could. Through the generations, those elves sent here, including many from flights that followed, the struggle against the Valhe has waged in many forms. As the humans grow more powerful and organized, they resist with growing ability when they realize that they are under attack at all. Unfortunately for the humans, their increasing organization makes them an easily controlled puppet for the Valhe. It is so much easier to lead and manipulate a thousand men under a lord than it is to manipulate a hundred who live their own lives.

By their original nature, great elves come from a kingdom in the clouds known as Elleanameral. This kingdom was shared by great elves, cloud giants an some metallic dragons. In addition to these, the "land" was abundant with all forms of flying creatures. The races that were within this mystic kingdom shared it peacefully, each benefiting form the contributions of the others. Over all, the kingdom became a very grand and beautiful place, about which Great elf characters know nothing about except for the generations old stories.

Community- Today great elves live primarily in small and hidden communities. These communities seldom consist of more than 20 individuals, and have as little to do with humans as possible. Outsiders are not trusted at all considering the enemy's potential for mind control and deception. Though life goes on within these communities, and about 60% of those present are or have been warriors. Everybody there realizes that the sole reason they are here is to produce resistance to Valhe plots. Great elves do engage in trade with humans, and the most daring will frequent human villages, though humans are kept far away form the elven safe havens. The opinion of humans toward elves is kind of a regional thing. In some places, the elves have earned a reputation for being a great ally of mankind. In other places the Valhe have managed to pit the humans against their would be allies. Then again, some elves have done their fair share of killing humans they believed to be under Valhe infulence. Though life in these communities is hard day to day, and rather primitive in ways, great elves of this generation have little hope, and thus a lack of real desire to return home.

Religion- Though Great Elves do acknowledge the existence of many gods, though they are not known for their worship. Religion within great elven communities may have existed long ago near the beginning of this war, but has faded since then. Today, elves that practice religion are isolated a bit from the rest of their people. Those who attempt to "subvert" their fellow elves are respectfully asked to set out on their own. It seems that the elven gods of old are fickle and their tie to this place weak. After years of even the most devout elven clerics having great difficulty obtaining the most basic of spells from their gods, faith in those dieties has greatley declined. However the worship of other gods is seen both as a slap in the face of the elves cultural identity, and potential trickery of the Valhe who are alligned in all manner of strange gods.

( A little known fact to even most elves is that a strong reinforcement unit has recently arrived off the eastern coast of New Tzmytyh. A small cloud citadel had been built by the far away elves, cloud giants, dragons and dwarves. This Citadel named "Visnalhema" or "the longest shot arrow" was filled with a mixed force of elves, humans, dwarves and even halflings and sent to establish a command center of sorts from which the campaign against the Valhe may be better coordinated. At this point, the forces of Visnalhema are attempting to spread throughout the land and establish and organize what network they can of those loyal forces still here. Most importantly however, the cloud citadel of Visnalhema contains within it great cathedrals to the gods of the elves such that clergy may again prosper in this land. )
