LRPG Fall 2004 Master page

Karador LRPG is a live action fantasy roleplaying game that has been on going for over 10 years now. LRPG is more akin to live games like NERO or IFGS than "Minds Eye Theater" or other less physical LARP games. Physical activity is at the center of LRPG. Combats are resolved with actual sword play using soft foam "weapons". Stealth is accomplished by getting down in the dirt and bushes and hiding. The play area is huge compared to most games and is what many LARPs refer to as "field course", meaning there is not a set series of encounters players are lead to and from. Rather they are allowed to travel and wander as they please. LRPG is a player friendly game; conflict between characters is uncommon and inter-player combat is rare. For the most part, the game is a cooperative one in which players tend to primarily help one another against opponents and situations that the Game Master and the judges present with enjoyable abundance.

Attendees of this event will be asked to sign a legal waiver which confirms their agreement to adhere to the rules and safety guidelines of the game. The waiver further acknowledges that players accept a degree of risk participating in this activity and as such agree to not litigate in the instance of mishap or misfortune.

Though this event is not "kid safe" and some of the general themes may not be appropriate for children, it also is not particularly "adult" either. Those over 18 years of age are preferred. Those of age 14-17 are welcome so long as their parent or legal guardian signs off on written permission allowing attendance and that an adult attending the event full time agrees to supervise the minor.

Three Potential Jobs

Upon returning to civilization from your past adventure, three new adventure opportunities present themselves to you. It is up to you all to decide which, if any your party will choose to undertake.

• Lieutenant Leaonard Sheppard of the Morcron Expeditionary Reconnaissance Forces has had an agent approach your group and offer you another assignment. Not far from the borders of the kingdom a cult of Moloch is growing. It is suspected that this cult is based around some strange magical item or location which the cult is using to build a monstrous army in service to the evil demon god. Accepting this mission will pay 50 gold per party member to simply discover what the cults source of magic is, and what it does. Bringing back the item or proof of its destruction will earn the party an additional 50 gold apiece. Accepting this mission will leave the party with only one month of down time before it departs.

• Haldeus Corbus of the Wimbeldor Trade Cartel again approaches the party. He and his superiors are very pleased with the last job you did for them, and they would like to hire you for another task. A major trade route has been cut off by a group of monstrous brigands. The lost revenue is awful. A round about trade route will add enough additional costs to put that route in the red. The Cartel would like your group to head out and eliminate this threat opening the roads again. The next run is scheduled to leave in three months, thus if you accept this job, you have a maximum of two months of down time before you must be back to work. The Cartel is willing to pay 40 gold a person if this task is accomplished.

• Various mages in your party have heard a rumor from within their guild. It seems that some farmers in a somewhat distant part of the kingdom have unearthed some very unusual bones and primitive jewelry. The jewelry is very typical of that used by an ancient race known as the Ka'laden for burial ceremonies. The Ka'laden were a race who hunted above ground in the night, but dwelled in burrows beneath the ground during the day. They were also obsessed with gathering wealth and practicing necromancy. Guild mages speculate that if this is a legitimate site which has been discovered, both undead and treasure is likely to be about, buried deep beneath the earth. If the party desires to investigate this, they may do so on whatever schedule they like. Keep in mind however that others will also be enticed by the potential wealth that awaits. The longer the party delays, the more likely it is others will beat them to any find.

Fee will be $20 for players, free for visitors and free for NPCs and monsters. CAMPING FEES  ARE included.
